Forgiveness may be the single most important and distinguishing attribute of someone who is close to Heaven. It is a trait often found in those who have endured a crucible of unfairness and pain at one time or another. They understand the importance of extending and receiving mercy, and they forgive liberally. This is why Christ's enduring example of forgiveness is so poignant. Freedom is found in forgiveness. Train yourself to forgive quickly and without qualification. Please remember, forgiveness does not require you to place yourself in harm’s way again. It merely allows you to move forward without the burden of bitterness.
